Under the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) 2005, the responsible person of a company must ensure that fire doors are installed, maintained, and repaired as necessary to keep them fit for purpose at all times
For a lay person, all of this is difficult to judge – especially for older buildings with original fire doors that were compliant when new and may have been modified or damaged over time.
